Licensing
Microsoft products offered through Connecting Up are perpetually licensed products. When you request a donated or discounted perpetually licensed product through Connecting Up, you're actually requesting a license, not the product itself.
To obtain perpetually licensed products without Software Assurance, you'll use the Microsoft 365 admin center. To obtain perpetually licensed products with Software Assurance, you'll use the Volume Licensing Server Center (VLSC).
Summary of Product Terms for Desktop Operating Systems:
- You must acquire a licence for each computer or device on or from which you access or use the software (locally and remotely). This device becomes the "licenced device."
- You may install only one copy on the licenced device or in a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system on the licenced device.
- You may use the software on up to two processors on the licenced device at one time.
- The desktop operating system licence is an "upgrade licence." You may acquire upgrade licences only for devices for which you have already licenced a "qualifying" operating system.
Summary of Product Terms for Desktop Applications:
