Validation tokens can only be created by the contact person who is registered for the TechSoup New Zealand Donations & Discounts program and only issued to someone who is authorised to represent your not-for-profit organisation.
Because validation tokens expire after 60 days, it is best to create them only when they are needed.
If you are the contact person listed on the Connecting Up Donations & Discounts program for your organisation:
- Log in to your TechSoup New Zealand account.
- On your My Account page go to TechSoup Validation Tokens
- Click Add a new token
- Enter the first name, last name, and email address of the person who will be using this validation token.
Important! This must be a person who is authorised to represent your nonprofit. For example, it could be a staff member, a volunteer, a board member, or a consultant acting with the full knowledge of your nonprofit. Do not create a validation token for someone who is not authorised to act on your nonprofit’s behalf. - Click Add new token. Your new validation token appears.
- If you created the validation token for your own use:
1. Copy the validation token.
2. Paste the validation token where it was originally requested. - If you created the validation token for an authorised representative of your nonprofit to use:
1. Copy the validation token.
2. Paste it into an email to the authorised representative.
3. The authorised representative then pastes the validation token where it was originally requested.
If you are not the contact person for the Donations & Discounts account for your organisation:
- You will need to contact the TechSoup New Zealand account holder and ask them to create a validation token for you.
- A validation token will only be created for you if you are authorised to act on behalf of the not-for-profit.
If your not-for-profit has not yet been qualified by Techsoup New Zealand:
- You will first need to go through the registration process www.techsoup.net.nz/user/register
- Once your NGO has been validated and confirmed as meeting the required criteria, you will be able to create a validation token by following the steps outlined above
