Microsoft Excel is a data management tool for creating spreadsheets and tracking and analysing data. With a number of analytics tools and power formula and scripting tools, it can be difficult to use Excel effectively.
Microsoft have helpful online resources; from absolute beginners to advanced features for experts.
In partnership with LinkedIn Learning, they have created the Microsoft Philanthropies Digital Literacy curriculum of short videos covering basic concepts. We recommend the following video for those just starting out using Excel:

If you prefer hands-on learning and a more comprehensive course, we recommend the Excel for Nonprofits – Data Management and Reporting course by our partners at TechSoup. With funding from Microsoft, this course is free! It runs for 4 hours, but you can pause and come back to it whenever you like. You'll also complete exercises to gain hands-on experience.
